This is the last week of what’s been a hugely successful month packed full of art exhibitions, digital events, installations and workshops. The Brighton Digital Festival has truly showcased the creative and innovative digital community here in Brighton.
While it’s the first time American Express Technologies has been involved in supporting the event, American Express® has been part of the Sussex landscape of over 40 years and over that time we’ve remained at the forefront of technological advancements to ensure we’ve the capabilities in place to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
We’re one of the largest local IT employers with over 400 IT professionals in Brighton. For the past 11 years the company has supported an MSc course at the University of Sussex, where students can specialise in Human-Computer Interaction, Intelligent Systems or Innovation management while working and gaining hands on experience at American Express.
We are half way through a two year, R&D project with the University of Sussex, investigating and prototyping micropayment technologies and virtual currencies.
We also operate a number of volunteer schemes across the city including @spire run in partnership with Albion in The Community. The six week programme of classes specifically for 12-14 year old girls in Brighton & Hove, aims to engage and inspire more girls with technology and introduce IT to them as a potentially viable and exciting career opportunity.
It’s been great to have been involved with this year’s event. Brighton and Hove is a well-known talent hub for the creative and digital industries and the Digital Festival is a fantastic opportunity to share these talents with the local community and much wider.
With only a few days to go till the event is officially brought to a close, don’t miss your last chance to come and experience all the Fun of the Festival…
