#Sergina’s Stimulatingly Sexy Simultaneous Simulation of Herself is coming to Brighton and to 2 Other #PlacesBeginningWithB (Belgrade and Berlin) on Saturday 17th September. #Sergina is a multi-bodied, border-straddling Drag Princess, who sings and performs songs about love in a time of digitalism, both online and in the flesh. #Sergina is everybody’s selfie, and no one’s. She is up for grabs and she is untouchable. She is an image and she is flawed (and confined) by her own flesh/s. She is a self-sculpted c-celeb. Her self is worn (out) on different bodies. She competes with her own image, and usually loses.
AT: the Malborough, simultaneously downstairs at the bar and upstairs in the theatre, (as well as Belgrade and Berlin) at 19.30 GMT on Saturday 17th September. And also live broadcast online via #Sergina’s YouTube channel. Panel discussion with artist Elly Clarke and Magdalena Tyżlik-Carver at Fabrica on Wednesday 14th September at 6pm. And a marvellously participatory flashmob ghetto blaster disco dance #IGotMyPhoneInMyWallet fun run around Brighton two days before – as a warm up. On 14th and 15th September members of the public will be invited to perform #Sergina’s #Waitingsong in full #Sergina costume, also live broadcast to screens near you. This performance is commissioned by Fabrica in association with Brighton Digital Festival.
Further details to follow. In the meantime, follow #Sergina’s digital body:
