Screen South and the Ignition Network are proud to present a selection of First Acts short films. These films were commissioned by Screen South as part of the Ignition Random Acts program, which is funded by Arts Council England in collaboration with CH4 Random Acts. First Acts supports artists and filmmakers aged 16 – 24 to make three minute films that are bold expressions of creativity.
Random Acts is Channel 4's short film strand dedicated to the arts, founded in 2011 to escape the conventions of arts broadcasting and to expand its possibilities. Random Acts should push boundaries, provoke thought and play with form. The strand showcases work from as diverse a range of creative people as we can find from across the UK and beyond - giving breaks to new talents and premiering work by established ones.
Followed by a panel and workshop with the filmmakers In partnership with the Brighton Digital Festival.
