Returning to TOM following a sell-out show in March 2017, Medea Electronica is a wild and imaginative retelling of the ancient Greek tragedy, set in the technological turbulence of the 1980's.
With the discovery of her husband's deceit and betrayal, Medea is driven to embark on a journey of savage revenge and destruction. This intense drama plays out amidst the brilliant chaos of a live gig; an all original mash up of contemporary, cinematic soundscapes and 1980’s Electronica. On stage, the musicians play out Medea’s inner dialogue, as she wrestles with her demons. The other characters are heard but not seen, creating a ghostly and unsettling atmosphere.
Pecho Mama is a new collaboration of UK performers and musicians, led by Artistic Director Mella Faye (Wildheart & Lyric, Jennifer Bell Company).
Together, the company create work that tramples all over the boundaries between theatre and live music, in order to make work that is raw, savage, beautiful and challenging.
