Mephitic Air is a new data visualisation and sonification installation from Wesley Goatley & Tobias Revell which explores the spaces between human and machine interpretations of air pollution.
An air pollution sensor outside the gallery sends live data into the installation, which is then visualised as multi-layer projected visualisations and surround-sound data sonifications. These expansive new forms of interpreting data explore the complexities of air pollution, and how data reflects or contradicts our experience of the air around us.
This exhibition and accompanying programme is supported by Brighton Bus Co, Arts Council England and Technical Solutions.
