Brighton Digital Festival explores the unexpected realities of digital culture in a new live podcast.
At three public events, This Side of Reality will unpick our bitter-sweet relationship with digital technology, looking at the unique challenges it creates, and the ones it solves.
Our lifestyle is increasingly digital, but are we asking the big questions? The podcast will feature creators, innovators, and thinkers bringing important topics from the fringe to the forefront.
Is the digital economy working for everyone? Are we the captains of our digital fate, or just floating along in the wake of innovation? Should we blame technology for our poor mental health, or reach out to it for solutions? How is digital art being used to challenge outdated perceptions about identity and belonging? Who are the people in our city using digital technology and art to inspire and create a better future?
The live events will cover complex ideas in accessible conversation, hosted by author and musician CJ Thorpe at Sixty Eight Middle St.
The podcast is created in partnership with radio pioneers TotallyRadio and will be broadcast live on their DAB radio channel and online, and available to stream or download later on Soundcloud and iTunes. The events are kindly sponsored by Sixty Eight Middle St.
This Side of Reality happens on the 7th, 21st September and 12th October, from 6 pm – 8 pm at 68 Middle Street.
