We are pleased to announce that after the success of last year’s Grassroot Fund awards events, we are reviving them again for the 2014 Brighton Digital Festival.
Last year the Grassroot Fund awards were used to support outstanding events that were organised by individuals and community groups as part of the festival. Talks, workshops, art exhibitions, and live performances were among the types of events supported by these awards, including work like Chris T-T’s alternative walking tour of Brighton Pavilion, a night of geeky digital comedy at Charity Chuckle, and a night of brilliant talks with SheSays Brighton.
For the 2014 festival we are offering ten awards of £500, to go towards independently organised events that celebrate digital arts and culture. These awards have been made possible by Arts Council England and generous support from Brighton and Hove City Council.
Hopeful applicants are asked to download the Grassroots Fund brief for full criteria and an overview of the selection process. Applications can be made online at the Grassroots Fund Application page, and will be open until the deadline of July 4th 2014.
