Lighthouse, in partnership with Picturehouse cinemas, presents a series of film screenings and talks that will explore how digital technology is opening up new opportunities for telling stories, building story-worlds and enhancing the narrative of cinema beyond the screen.
A double-bill screening of a selection of Charlie Brooker’s Emmy award-winning Black Mirror series. Both episodes have technology at their heart, but are also wider allegories about social media, trends and interaction exploring the what-ifs and potential ’side effects’ of technology. In Brooker’s own words the programmes depict “the way we might be living in 10 minutes’ time if we’re clumsy”.
