@ClicheHQ
@ClicheHQ is a performance project by artist and collector of clichés Hollie Lewis. It is a campaign to rediscover, revamp and reintroduce overused clichés back into the everyday through both the real and virtual worlds.
The campaign begins with a live performance at The Basement (10/09, 8.30pm). Come and discover how these familiar phrases can be rewritten, remade and transformed into movement, offering a fresh perspective on existing ideas. After the live performance Hollie invites you to indulge in her games and techniques by Tweeting into @ClicheHQ with your own remade clichés. New clichés can be text, image or even video based. In fact you can be as creative as you like, but don’t delay – ClicheHQ is only open from 10th-13th September!
Join Hollie live at ClicheHQ (Room 230, Grand Parade Campus, The University of Brighton, 11-13/09 11am – 4pm) where you can explore her cliché collection and remake clichés through games such as cliché whispers. As new clichés arrive at ClicheHQ they will be transferred onto bags and badges and taken out into the everyday to reach more of the public and encourage more Twitter participation.
There are prizes for submitting remade clichés! Every evening after ClicheHQ closes for the day; Hollie will pick her favourite remade cliché and explore it in relation to her body, creating a short video performance that will be uploaded to Vimeo that same evening. Other prizes up for grabs include handwritten chocolate clichés!
Follow @ClicheHQ on Twitter from 1st September for remade cliché tasters and tips before the project officially launches on the 10th.
