MakerClub's Clean up the Ocean Challenge showcases the designs and solutions produced by young people challenged with finding creative and technical solutions to plastic pollution in our oceans.
The designs will be exhibited from the 5th-6th October at the ONCA barge with an open event on the 5th October from 6pm-8pm where young people will be presenting their designs. The designs will be judged by a panel of experts including Claire Potter, Adam Root, Gerard Harkin and Elin Williamson with the winners announced at the event.
The showcase is a result of a project running throughout September in collaboration with Surfers Against Sewage and Southern Water.
MakerClub members will be attending a beach clean and a teach on the beach session run by Atlanta Cook and Surfers Against Sewage where they will learn about plastic pollution in our seas and how they can help tackle this; they will then design and create solutions to this problem.
This event has been made possible with the support of a Grassroots award from Brighton Digital Festival and supported by Southern Water.
