Come and see how young people brought the Royal Pavilion and Museums to life in this Gif Exhibition.
Participants aged 14 - 25 were invited to make a Gif inspired by the collections and locations of one of five heritage sites in Brighton and Hove: Brighton Museum & Art Gallery; Royal Pavilion; Preston Manor House; The Booth Museum of Natural History; Hove Museum & Art Gallery.
A Gif is a computer image format that is used for short videos and animations.
The exhibition will showcase the winning Gifs from the competition.
Contributor Charlie Snow says: "Everyone can give this a go, we're all using gif apps on our phones nowadays. Mixing the old with the new, it's a great way to get to know the collections and think about where they came from. I will be thinking about museums in a new way from now on".
The competition is part of a youth programme called 'Remix the Museum', developed by Brighton Youth Film Festival in collaboration with the Brighton Museum and animator Dave Packer. The program runs animation/film/gif workshops exploring the collections of a museum.
The Museum Collective, a group of young people aged 14-25, who regularly meet in the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, have taken the creative lead on the 'Remix the Museum' Gif Competition.
Young people, families or anyone who is interested in gaining a fresh perspective on museum collections through the eyes of young people.
