Flash Lit Fiction: Write, Hack & Slam – free drop in session

An evening of short shorts, flash writing and digital technologies, supported by Brighton Digital Festival Grassroots Fund.

Programme

  • Techie/Writer Meet Up: skills swap or peer learning: A hack space where techie/writers come together to swap skills, collaborate or help each other in a friendly peer environment.
  • Short 30-minute Flash/Nano Fiction Stories Workshops – with Tara Gould (Short Fuse/Story Studios) and Tim Lay (Grit Lit)
  • Short talks from people running or developing interesting digital/literature projects – so far confirmed is Richard Hearn (Paragraph Planet owner, The Latest columnist Distracted Dad)

The drop in session will be followed swiftly by our annual evening slam 7-10.30pm, £4. Advance tickets now on sale on Eventbrite.

How do I get involved? 

To attend the free informal sessions during the day, just come down, no need to book. The sessions operate on a drop in basis. However, if you’d like to let us know you’re coming, you can also sign up on our Eventbrite page.
Sign up is recommended if you’d like to let us know about your learning needs or a project idea you’d like to explore – we’ll do our best to find someone who might be interested in the same thing!

Who are these events aimed at? 

Our free drop in sessions are aimed at writers of any level and any age, from complete beginners to emerging flashers to seasoned pros.

  • Techie/Writer meet up: Writers – want to know more about how to make your own website, what the fuss with Pinterest is, or how to make your web presence stronger, come down and learn new digital skills? Come down.
  • Stories Workshops: open to all! All genres and styles welcome.
