As part of her installation “Postcards from as East Brighton childhood” for Brighton Digital Festival, Bonny Cummins will be running a Free Arts workshops for children in Whitehawk Library.
Children will be able to create their own postcards on wooden blocks to take home, using some of the media from Bonny’s installation including lenticular animations, special pens and paints on a theme of nature and the Hill, Whitehawk. Children can work the Artist to create a series of canvases using a collage of printed lenticulars .The canvases will have a special place in the library and will be exhibited at her installation in the library on Saturday 7th October 2017 and in the Library permanently after the installation.
Bonny has worked extensively in East Brighton with schools and community groups , including an installation the Wellsborne Health Centre and Nursery entrance, next door to the Library, working with the school and local community groups.
This installation and workshop is funded by a BDF17 Grassroots Award for a digital community project. The installation/workshop is supported by Whitehawk Library and by ASDA Brighton Marina who are hosting events, by East Brighton Bygones -providing historical input, and with materials provided by Hive Associates, Brewers Paints, and Clarkes Stationers .
