In 2017, after a lengthy selection process, Brighton Digital Festival, Brighton and Hove City Council and University of Brighton selected Nexus Studios to create a piece of public digital art for the Huxley Building on the Moulsecombe campus which houses the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences.
Submissions for this project were asked to take into consideration the nature of the research that happens in the building and to respond to the building itself.
The proposal from Nexus was to create a double screen installation on which a new creature would be born and evolve over the course of a month or so in response to inputs from the building and interactions with staff, students and visitors.
Join us to hear from Nexus Studios about the development of the work and the principles behind it as well as to see it in action.
