TDC (Trust for Developing Communities) are working with some of Brighton's most exciting tech businesses and educators to inspire young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with the opportunities available to them if they follow a career in tech.
The Tech Trail offers the chance to step through the doors of some of the city’s coolest companies: Propellernet, Drum, Ideal, Gene Commerce, Brandwatch, Create, Brightec … the list goes on. You'lll see first-hand what a digital workplace looks like and will be able to try interactive experiences designed to increase your understanding of what these companies do. You will also get the chance to talk to young employees about what it's like to have a tech career in Brighton.
TDC have joined forces with educators such as Brighton Met, Entrepreneurial Spark and Digital Accelerator who can help you take those first steps on a career pathway.
We want diversity - both in culture and viewpoint - so whilst this opportunity is available to all young people, TDC are committed to supporting those from disadvantaged areas . Spaces will be reserved for groups from youth clubs based in areas that have high levels of deprivation. We are also asking those who attend to consider making a donation that helps our charity cover the costs of transport and ongoing youth-worker support - providing young people with the support and tools they need to overcome the challenges of poverty, social exclusion or isolation themselves.
