Would you like to take part in a participatory art project?

Seed to Seed Conversational Workshop is part of a bigger project that will culminate in an artist film where sound recording and footage of details gathered during the workshop will bean integral part of the piece. The aim is for participants to contribute to the conceptual and critical framework of the film.

During the event recordings of conversations with seed keepers from an Indian seed bank will be played. Through conversation we will try to understand the cultural difference between UK and various Indian cultures by asking members of the local Indian communities to re-translate and interpret the audio-visual material through their sensibility. We will ask them to talk about what they understand of the language spoken (Hindi) and what they do not, underlining the gap within the different Indian cultures that belong to India, but also to Indian communities around the world.

The conversation will be opened to the rest of the participants and create a platform to discuss cultural diversity, food production and technology. This is a free workshop where all opinions are welcome.
